Improving Mental and Physical Ability Through Aggressiveness Exercises

Aggressiveness exercises are a great way to improve our mental and physical abilities. In our next issues we will cover a few of them.

Drill:

For this exercise we need two bars which are hanged next to each other. Usually you can find one in a playground, in the form of a ladder hung vertically above the ground. You and your partner hang yourself on the ladder, with your backs to each other. Only now you hang yourself from your legs – heads hanging down. Your objective is to make the other fall (not completely) using your hands (push, pull and squeeze).

Tips:

1. It is very important we maintain a play mentality, and avoid becoming overly aggressive in our touch so that the exercise doesn't turn into a fight.

2. In general, the amount of sets, their duration and the length of time of each set, should be decided upon according to our abilities and endurance level both mentally and physically. This exercise could be a very demanding! Don't stay more than 1 minute at a time – and do at least another exercise between each set. Although the competition it is important to be very aware to not exaggerate – the blood runs to the head very quickly.

3. It is important that we look for the aggressiveness inside the exercise rather than the techniques which can be applied. We shouldn't look to achieve our goal through joint-locks, strikes, etc.

4. When we finish the exercise it is very important to stretch our whole body.
