Using a 20 kilo weight bar to strengthen the core musclesUsing a 20 kilo weight bar to strengthen the core muscles We talked about the importance of strengthening the core for general health, but also for improving our striking power , evading possibilities and throwing techniques… Drill: Take a bar that’s about 25 percent of our body weight. Start moving the bar around our head, moving it in different directions and different distances from our body. Tips: • Knees bent • Different directions and distances different muscles that work... • Start with steady movements instead of jerks • Hold tight the stomach and back muscles… • Breath normally • As we feel more comfortable – we can increase the speed of the weight movement. • Steady, slow movements and jerks both train different muscles – mix the use of them • Slowly put in more hip turning and motion. • Stretching is very important after this exercise.
